Yes, one of our hotel barges, Belmond's Pivoine has just reported being unable to move. They're at Sillery I think, and we've got guests flying out from the States today for their cruise aboard.

A fellow member is stuck north of Reims and has been visited by Stéphane Savoie, a VNF local senior.
He said the great pipe feeding the canal just went "Pouff!" this morning. Flooded the fields. Several Sections just went down & down. Billy tunnel too.
They've a big job even to assess how to fix it

Not a couple of days then.

We'll be joining the line of boats heading for Paris I suppose

The whole of the Marne a L'Aisne is now closed due to a failure of the feeder channel.
Local VNF agents are suggesting this is at least until 13 August

It's not getting any better: Today's (not) good news for those intending to get to Sillery via the Marne (me being one of them) is that the Canal de l'Aisne à la Marne is closing immediately at the southern end (between locks 22 and 23) because of a risk of leaking of the canal. No end date forecast. See FR/2022/04276.
