Thanks for the info. Yes, I now hear from the locals that the depth is adequate at minimum 1.9. I’ll be careful in the narrows.

The upstream section of the Dender falling within Wallonia, roughly between Ath and Geraardsbergen, is the shallowest part but this is currently listed at 1.9 metres permitted draft and I see no official navigation warnings. The channel can be very narrow and winding and needs careful navigation by larger vessels but on the last occasion we went through in 2019 we had no problem with actual depth (at 1.1 metres draft) even though the water levels were a little depleted. Best however to ask local advice when you reach the waterway.

Hello. We are approaching the Dender canal from the north. We see the chart showing a max depth of 1.3 on the lower section. Since we draw 1.3, does anyone know the current water level on that section?
