TOPIC: European barging licence

European barging licence 17 Sep 2020 11:28 #118540

Hi Chris E.

I've never met Jo and Steve Bridges, but I do know their boat Somewhere, I spent many a happy hour onboard with previous owners. More to the point, I've driven a "Sister Ship" to Somewhere several hundred kms, and can vouch for the ease of handling this design of vessel, a good choice to do the course on.

Hi Chris E,
We did our EGP with Steve and Jo Bridges - Bargecraft.com, on their 21m peniche "Somewhere". They are excellent to deal with and they will answer all your questions to ensure you obtain the boat licence that is suitable for your boat length.
Good Luck

Hi Chris

Regular contributing DBA member Tam Murell www.bargehandling.com/Bargehandling.com/Welcome.html can teach ICC or EGP on your boat according to his website.
ENAM do EGP (>20 meters) if you need continental qualification and Tam not available. Montauban (also Cahors but not sure they would do practical there). I think Bargecraft call them in should EGP be appropriate qualification for you.

Regards
Chris

Is anyone able to give me advice on where in France I could find an English speaking instructor who could give me lessons and issue me with the necessary licence for a 24m barge. Thanks in advance.
