Well known film but great. First two barges, Repertor and Thistle I bought at scrap prices and rebuilt. Thistle we sailed to Aberdeen Bremerhaven Bristol and Brest...powerful barge she is. C

Superb Pete, I've not seen that one before.

I remember climbing around with Di and a friend over several barges in semi-derelict condition in the marshes below Tilbury about 1960 looking for something to buy for conversion to a home. He eventually bought the Cumberland which belonged to the owner of Chiswick Yacht Basin as it was then known and moored it on the Hollows Footpath above Kew Bridge where several other barges were lived on.
